Applying Mineral Make-up

APPLYING MINERAL MAKEUP

Now, it's time for your first make up application.

Start with a clean, moisturized face. Be sure your moisturizer is absorbed before you apply mineral make up. This gives you a clean, clear slate to build up from. If your moisturizer isn't absorbed, the minerals will clump and spread unevenly.

 Foundation:

Tap a small amount of foundation into the lid. Turn the jar over, tap the bottom with your finger, turn right side up, and open. Swirl your brush in the foundation, and tap the excess back into the lid. Apply it in short, feathery, downward strokes. You want the fine hairs and pores of your skin to lay flat. If you need to conceal something, use a smaller brush and blend foundation onto that area.

Do you prefer liquid foundation? No problem. Simply add a dab of water to the foundation in the lid, and mix well. Keep adding water or powder until you've reached your desired consistency. We recommend using a flocked sponge for better application. Then apply the same way as mentioned above.

If you have very dry skin, try mixing a dab of moisturizer

instead of water.

*Be sure to wipe out any excess liquid from the lid before you close it.

  Setting Powder:

Use a large brush and apply this all over your face after you've applied eye make up, lipstick and blush.

 Moisture Setting:

If you have very dry skin, you can spritz a little skin freshener on top. This will re-hydrate your skin and take away a dry or flaky look.  Also, if you mist with the skin freshener, and then use a flocked sponge or brush to lightly smooth your make up in a downward motion; you will minimize the appearance of large pores.

Did you know Chocobo Naturals Mineral Makeup can be used for anything? That's right! You can use any color for eye shadow, eye liner, blush, bronzer, nail polish, in hair gel, in lotion, lip liner, brow liner, lip gloss and more!

 Eye shadow:

Use an eye brush to apply your eye shadow. Tap some colour into the lid, swirling your brush, tapping off the excess and applying.

 Eyeliner:

Add a little water or skin freshener to the color in the lid, and mix. Use an eyeliner brush, and apply the eyeliner. Darker shades work best, but sometimes light shades and no eye shadow looks great too. You can even smudge the eyeliner for a "smoky" look.

*Be sure to wipe away excess liquid before closing the lid.

  Blush:

Use a blush brush to gather your color from the lid and tap off the extra. Then use light, feathery strokes from the apple of your cheek back towards your hairline.

 Lip Liner:

There are two ways to apply make up minerals to make lip liner. The first is to use the same technique outlined with the eyeliner above, but be sure to use a lip liner brush.

Another good technique is to put on clear lip balm and use the lip liner brush to line your lips with the powder. Don’t forget to tap off the excess.

Lipstick:

Use the same technique for the lip liner, and simply fill in your whole lip.

 Brow Liner:

You can use this dry or wet, according to the above instructions. Always wipe any excess liquid out of the lid.

 Bronzer

Use a large Kabuki brush or a blush brush and apply the color to any part of your body that you want bronze.

 Nail Polish:

Use a clear nail polish and dip the brush into the color you would like. If this isn't working quite right, simply add whichever make up minerals you like to a bottle of clear nail polish, shake well before painting.

 Other Goodies:

Make up minerals can be added to lotion for a sparkle all- over body look.

It can be added to hair gel, for glittery hair.

It can be dry dusted into hair, and then set with hair spray.

Mineral Makeup can be mixed into almost anything for a unique look. And combining colors will give you a style all your own!

 APPLICATION TIPS & TRICKS

Always apply minerals in thin layers, two is usually sufficient.

Make sure you moisturizer has completely absorbed  before you apply mineral powder.

Use the flocked sponge for a heavier coverage or  mix a small amount of powder into your favorite moisturizer, then apply as your would a cream

foundation. This is especially good for areas under the eyes and for concealing large pores.

Too Much Shine? Layering too thickly or pressing into the skin with the brush tends to separate the crystals.  It is easy to avoid this by applying the

minerals in thin layers in downward strokes with an appropriate brush (we recommend Kabuki brushes).  Keep adding layers until desired coverage has been reached. It can also help to spritz with a freshener and then blot.

Uneven and blotchy? This is usually because the

minerals have been applied before the moisturizer has been absorbed or because the moisturizer being used only lays on the skin surface. The simple

solution is to wait a minute for the moisturizer to disappear or to blot any excess.

Wrong color? This was probably chosen in poor

lighting. The best way to test for the right color is to do it on the jaw line in daylight. The color should disappear if it blends perfectly with the skin.

Mineral Make-up can be applied immediately after a light peel or microdermabrasion. It will not only cover the redness, but the Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxides are anti-inflammatories, which will help to calm the irritation.

If you are perspiring heavily or swimming, don’t wipe your face with a towel or with your hand.  Just pat your face dry with a towel.
